- C-terminal α-MSH tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val). Anti-inflammatory via MC1R and intracellular PepT1 — melanocortin pigmentation is not the endpoint.
- Unlike PT-141 or α-MSH analogs, KPV does not drive MC3/MC4 pigment or arousal signaling at research microgram ranges. Tanning on this vial is a labeling problem.
- IBD and DSS-colitis papers use oral delivery because PepT1 on inflamed enterocytes concentrates the tripeptide intracellularly.
